Expert HVAC Services in Raceland, LA
Trust our experts for a dozens of top-tier solutions for your Raceland home or business.
Air Conditioning (AC) Installation and Repair
Building new or replacing a system on its last leg, Raceland homeowners turn to Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., for air conditioning installation and repair backed by our standing as a Trane Comfort Specialist. Before we quote a new unit, we run a cooling load calculation specific to your square footage, because an air conditioner sized off a neighbor's house rarely performs the way it should in yours.
Raceland sits on both sides of Bayou Lafourche, part of the string of small communities so tightly built along the bayou's banks that locals call it the world's longest Main Street. Homes packed that close together along the water deal with a long, humid cooling season, and an AC system asked to run that much of the year holds up a lot longer when it's sized and serviced properly from the start.
Furnace Repair and Installation
South Louisiana winters are short, but they're not nothing, and when a cold snap does roll through, Raceland homeowners count on Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., for furnace repair, installation, and pre-season inspections.
Raceland's flat, open farmland doesn't offer much of a windbreak when a cold front rolls down from the north, and a furnace that hasn't been checked since last winter is the one most likely to fail on the night the temperature actually drops. A fall inspection catches a weak igniter or a dirty flame sensor before it becomes a no-heat call.
Heat Pump Services
One system for heating and one for cooling means two things that can break; a heat pump collapses that down to one, and it's what Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., installs, repairs, and services for Raceland homeowners who'd rather maintain a single piece of equipment.
Raceland Raw Sugar Corporation runs its mill around the clock during the fall grinding season, and that means a lot of local households are on shift schedules that don't match a typical nine-to-five day. A heat pump paired with a smart thermostat handles that kind of irregular occupancy pattern better than a system programmed for a standard workday, keeping the house comfortable whether someone's coming home at 3 p.m. or 3 a.m.
HVAC Maintenance Services
A tune-up costs a lot less than an emergency repair, which is the whole idea behind the inspections, cleaning, and testing Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., runs as part of its preventative HVAC maintenance program in Raceland.
Raceland's cane fields and farmland put more windblown dust and plant debris into the air than a wooded or urban lot ever sees, and that debris collects on an outdoor unit's coil and inside the cabinet faster than a homeowner might expect. Regular maintenance clears that buildup before it restricts airflow and forces the system to work harder than it should.
Ductless Mini Splits
Some rooms just don't connect to the main system the way they should, and rather than force a duct extension that was never in the original plan, Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., fits Raceland homes with ductless mini splits that run on their own compressor and their own thermostat.
Raceland's larger, rural lots often come with a detached workshop, a converted barn, or a garage turned into extra living space, none of which were built with ductwork in mind. A ductless unit conditions that space on its own, without the cost of tying it into a duct system that was never designed to reach it.
Indoor Air Quality Solutions
A one-inch filter only does so much; for the humidity, dust, and allergens a basic filter misses, Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., designs and installs indoor air quality systems built around what's actually in the air in your Raceland home.
The same farmland that surrounds Raceland also means more pollen and airborne plant particulate finding its way indoors through open windows and return vents, especially during the spring growing season. A well-matched filtration system catches more of that before it triggers allergy symptoms than a standard one-inch filter ever will.
Commercial HVAC Services
Raceland's businesses, from small retail storefronts to larger industrial operations, rely on Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., for commercial HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance work that keeps their buildings running through the workday.
Between Raceland Raw Sugar Corporation's mill, which draws cane from seven parishes during harvest, and the truck traffic along Highway 90 and Highway 1, Raceland carries more industrial and logistics activity than its population alone would suggest. Commercial HVAC work here often means sizing a system for a warehouse or an industrial office, not just a small retail storefront, and you can count on our experts for the job.
Custom Air Duct Installation and Sheet Metal Fabrication
Not every house fits a stock duct part, which is why Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., keeps its own sheet metal fabrication shop running and builds custom ductwork to order for Raceland installations.
Homes built along Raceland's stretch of Bayou Lafourche tend to sit on narrow, deep lots laid out generations before central air was standard, and fitting modern ductwork into that kind of older floor plan usually means custom-built runs rather than an off-the-shelf kit. Our fabrication shop builds ductwork to match the house instead of asking the house to match the ductwork.
Why Choose Nick's Refrigeration, Inc.
It started in 1947 when Nick Edrington Jr. got out of the U.S. Navy and needed a trade, and Nick's Refrigeration, Inc., has been a Lafourche Parish name ever since. Three generations of the Edrington family later, Raceland customers still get the same family running the business their grandparents called. Our Trane Comfort Specialist and NATE certifications back up the workmanship, our Louisiana license numbers (#LA5295 and #LA5052918) are posted for anyone who wants to check them, and 24/7 emergency service plus a 100% satisfaction guarantee back up everything else.
